Plan
Plan…
“A man’s mind plans his way as he journey’s through life, But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.” Proverbs 16:9 AMP
Plan: to scheme, to devise, to form in mind…
I want to encourage you to not get frustrated; you made the decision to start out on your journey, and now, as you look around, it doesn’t look anything like what you thought it would. You have told people that you were going on an adventure, and you already started dreaming of what it would be, how it would look, how long it would take to get there, and now as you look around, you don’t see any of that.
You know what, that’s great because it means you are on LOVE’s journey and not the plan you formed in your mind. Often, right after we say yes to God, we run to get our favorite journal and start telling God all the plans we have for the journey, instead of being satisfied with the blank page. The blank page doesn’t help us plan for the journey. We need to know just what we need to take with us, and even if you are the one saying I don’t plan, you still do. Your best attempt to not plan is still a plan. Our not planning still thinks about the basics that we will need.
When was the last time you allowed God to completely take the lead? A few years ago, I met a friend who taught dance lessons. He specifically taught salsa lessons, and I wanted to learn. So, I asked if he would teach me, during our second meeting, he told me to stop trying to lead and allow him to lead me. He told me that I had to trust that he had my best interest in mind, and I had to feel for the cues or where he was leading me. The same goes for this adventure to LOVE we are on. We can’t say ok, God you take the lead, but I have an idea that we need to go to the right at this next intersection.
I remember another time when I was in a morning prayer time while in a discipleship program, I was walking and praying, and I had a vision, on of myself dancing in a grand ballroom with God. When I looked down, my feet were on top of His. I COMPLETELY trusted his leading. I wasn’t really worried about where I was going or needing a plan. I trusted the one leading the way.
That is what is required on this journey to LOVE, we must trust the leader. We aren’t leading ourselves we have said yes to a journey that was written about long before we ever knew how to read the plans. It’s not a journey of our mind but one of our hearts, one of trust. So lay your plans down and get up on HIS feet and allow HIM to lead the way.
So today take some time to do the following:
1. Be still and ask God where you haven’t let Him have the lead.
2. List some places/areas of your life where you find it difficult to trust.
